How to take accurate measurements

 

 

Your bust:

Bust measurement is the most important measurement to take accurately to find clothing that fits you just right because this is often the most outwardly curved section of your body. To take an accurate measurement or your bust circumference, please follow the steps below. You may ask a friend for help or do it on your own standing sideways to a mirror.

1. Wear a bra that fits you well, ideally a flat and unpadded bra. You want a measurement that reflects the size of your bust, including your undergarments.
2. Wrap a flexible tape measure around your back and across your chest and hold it at the fullest portion of your breast - usually at the nipples.
3. Do not hold the tape too tight. You want it to firmly hold your torso, but still feel comfortable.
4. Do not hold your breath as this may alter your measurements.
5. Find the number on the tape where the two ends meet at the front of your chest and round it to the next whole number.

 

 

Your Waist:

Your waist is the narrowest part of your torso or the lowest portion of your ribcage. To measure your natural waist and with your feet flat on the floor, then place the tape just above your navel. Keep the tape level, wrap it around your belly, and note the measurement.

Tips:

• Use a flexible tape measure
• Do not measure on a full stomach
• Remove any layer of clothing blocking your waistline.

 

Your Hips:

Your hip measurement represents the circumference around the widest part of your butt and your hip bones. To get an accurate measurement, place the tape measure at the widest part of one hip bone, and then wrap it around the circle of your hips. Note the number where both ends of the tape meet, then compare the waist measurement to the size chart above to find your perfect fit.
